It's one of the most basic, bland, and repetitive games I've ever played. The game is mechanically solid for the most part with a few minor annoyances, it runs fine, the controls are ok, it's not a bad game. Ok so I bought this game specifically to laugh at it since it's $10 on sale at the time of writing this review.īut there's just nothing to laugh at. but for me, this type of game is one that you pick up once in a while. If you are just rushing through story on the easiest difficulty, you can easily blast through it in under 5 hours. Just bear in mind this is a BUDGET title, and its very barebones, even the costumes that you can unlock is only like 5 with a few different color variants. However if you can find it for what it should logically cost (10$ CND or less) then its a great game to have around when you just want to play a quick few levels, the game starts very easy but difficulty ramps up, there are currently some extra levels that I will never be able to finish with my skill level.

if I had paid full price for this, I would be calling absolute garbage. To add insult to injury, they once again sold costumes that make your characters semi-naked when they really should had been included as a secret unlockable (but maybe its a good thing considering the characters are high school students, I aint paying 1$ for that), extreme greed ruined what should had been another beloved entry to this budget line of games. they sold this budget game as a full release title when it is a budget one. Here is where the this developer messed up. The entire time zombies are constantly spawning so you simply can not stand still, however as I mentioned the levels are short (you can easily beat some in matter of seconds). The game going back to its budget roots, is simple, each level is short and involves doing one of the several rotating objectives, for example go from point A to point B while shooting zombies, or survive 3 minute horde. "SG/ZH: School Girl/Zombie Hunter" is a spin-off of that series, replacing the katana wielding bikini samurais with school girls with high powered long range weaponry, where did they get it? Dont ask. The "Simple Series" was a line of budget games that were released mostly in japan, the concepts were simple but fun, one of them was "Onechanbara" where the concept was "What if a bunch of samurai wearing bikini hot girls were in a zombie apocalypse?" Personally I am a fan of that series, while some people will roll their eyes at the fan service (last release featured pre-order bonus that had characters wearing nothing but strawberry over genitals), I like how fun they are, and they are usually short, never overstaying their welcome, I tend to replay them every once in a while. WARNING! While I do recommend the game.DO NOT pay full price, let me explain. Well, the graphics in EDF games are also bad, I will admit that. Just get Earth Defense Force instead which does everything this game does on a much, much better level. The hunt for level ups and new weapons can be motivating at first but you will soon realize that these systems are just as barebones as the rest of the game.

It's not a hard game or anything, it's just very clumsy at times. You can also get easily stuck in level architecture, between enemies or even your own allies which only adds to the frustration. And yes, this is just as "fun" as it sounds. There aren't many enemy types and instead of adding more varied enemies the developers just decided to make "explosive" versions of the existing ones. There are only a handful of levels that get repeated for around four hours of total playtime with minor variations.

It's a very barebones shooter with PS2 levels of graphics and very limited scope. But this definitely isn't worth the asking price of 33€.

You might - like me - get some dumb fun out of this if you can grab it for real cheap in a bundle or deep sale.
